Slite is what you get when you build a tool specifically to be a team wiki instead of building a tool that can be many things. The interface is clean. The search actually works. The AI knows what you’re looking for even if you don’t describe it perfectly.
The appeal is simplicity. Your team writes docs. Slite finds them. No nested spaces to navigate. No broken database views. No macros to learn. Just documentation that lives where people expect it. The Slack integration surfaces docs at the moment people need them instead of requiring them to context-switch to a separate tool. For remote teams that live in Slack, this is genuinely useful.
But Slite’s simplicity is also its limitation. You can’t use it as a project tracker. You can’t build relational databases. It’s a wiki, and it does that well, but it’s only a wiki. If you need a single unified workspace (Notion’s promise), Slite doesn’t fit. If you need wiki functionality that’s faster and cleaner than Notion without losing other capabilities, Slite is the obvious move.
