Our Take
1Password is non-negotiable for remote teams. You have shared credentials: AWS keys, database passwords, API tokens, customer account logins. Emailing passwords is a disaster. Sharing them in Slack is worse.
1Password gives you shared vaults. “Production,” “Staging,” “Marketing Tools,” whatever you need. Your engineer needs the production database password? You add them to the vault. They see it in 1Password, use it, never know what it actually is. It stays in the vault. When they leave, you remove access.
For a 15-person remote team, this is your security baseline. Travel mode lets you take vaults offline for airport wifi. Audit logs show who accessed what when. Breach monitoring alerts you if a password appears in leaked databases. It’s the smart move for any distributed team that doesn’t want to wake up to “someone got into production.”
